Oyo completes teacher recruitment, sets date for PWD applicants

The Oyo State Government announced on Saturday that it had completed oral interviews for 8,077 candidates in the state's teacher recruitment exercise.

Nureni Adeniran, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, announced this at a meeting with board members in Ibadan, the state capital, saying the exercise was completed last Monday.

"50, 700 applicants registered on the board's official website, while 45, 827 took the exam, with 8, 197 candidates scoring more than 50 marks.

"The oral interviews, which exempted people with disabilities, began on August 14, 2024 and ended on Monday, August 26, 2024." "The board has scheduled interviews for applicants with disabilities on September 10 and 11, 2024," he stated.

Adeniran praised Governor Seyi Makinde for prioritizing education, noting that the board had reached an agreement with the State Agency for People with Disabilities.

The chairman added that the board had also approved caregiver interview sessions, which will take place on September 12, 2024.

He advised all caregiver candidates to log into their portal for interview schedule slips, emphasizing that only the best candidates would be hired.

Adeniran reaffirmed the board's commitment to employing qualified teachers as the foundation for the current administration's vision of sustainable development.
