ExxonMobil changes leadership as top official retires after 34 years

ExxonMobil has announced that Liam Mallon, President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company and Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation, will be retiring on February 1, 2025.

Following this, the Board of Directors named Dan L. Ammann as the new President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company.

According to the statement, Dan L. Ammann will continue to serve as Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation in addition to his new position as President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company.

The Board also named Barry L. Engle as President of Low Carbon Solutions and Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation, effective January 1, 2025.

"We thank Liam for his long-standing, dedicated service to the company, and we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement," said Darren Woods, Chairman and CEO.

He went on to say, "These appointments continue the company's strategy of leveraging the diverse skills and experiences of a very accomplished executive team to bring new perspectives and approaches to each of our exceptionally talented organizations.

"This has served us well over the last several years and is a useful, innovative way to strengthen our leadership teams, challenge conventions, and broaden our people,"

Mallon, who has been President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company since 2022, first joined the company in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1990.
