CITN moves to improve tax education

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria has altered its tax education syllabus in an effort to improve the quality of tax knowledge and practice in the country.

In addition, the institute has switched to computer-based exams, which are intended to improve the efficiency and professionalism of the examination process.

This was recently revealed in a statement signed by CITN's Registrar/Chief Executive, Afolake Oso, who announced the results of the organization's just finished 2024 Diet Examination.

It emphasised the need of pupils being acquainted with the new technology ahead of upcoming tests and stressed its willingness to support them through the process.

The institution emphasised that its examinations provide excellent possibilities for professional growth and development, contributing to the continued advancement of standards in the tax profession.

The institute reported that it successfully tested and achieved great success with the CBT methodology, resulting in its certification for use in professional tests beginning in 2025.

It claimed, "We will organise a sensitisation event to assess students' knowledge of CBT methods and familiarise them with the platform's capabilities.

"This curriculum will also provide students with the opportunity to take mock exams prior to the actual tests. We encourage students to participate in our sensitisation and demo program to become acquainted with this new format.
