Apple unveils new MacBook Pro models
Apple has introduced new models of the MacBook Pro that come with powerful processors designed for intensive tasks like photo and video editing, boosting the brand’s appeal to creative professionals.
The starting price for the new 14-inch MacBook Pro is $1,599, while the 16-inch model, featuring the basic M4 chip, will begin at $2,499. More advanced models will offer the superior M4 Pro and M4 Max processors.
These enhancements are in response to a growing demand from customers for computers that can effectively support artificial intelligence applications. Apple's AI capabilities, available worldwide when devices are set to U.S. English, will roll out through a free software update starting Wednesday for Macs powered by M1 chips or later.
The first batch of features, presently in beta with the forthcoming macOS Sequoia 15.1, will be followed by additional updates in the coming months.
Starting Wednesday, customers can pre-order the latest MacBook Pro models, with expected delivery and store availability from November 8. Earlier this year, Apple also launched two new MacBook Air laptops featuring the latest M3 processors, beginning at $1,099 for the 13-inch version.
The PC market is preparing for a comeback in 2024, fueled by a rising demand for AI-enabled computers, after experiencing a downturn over the last two years post-pandemic.
The recent product announcements from Apple follow the company’s unveiling of a vibrant selection of iMac desktop computers equipped with the M4 chip and new Apple Intelligence features.
