Super Eagles Stumble in Latest FIFA Ranking, Failing to Advance

The Super Eagles of Nigeria maintained their 40th position in the latest FIFA ranking despite a fair performance during the October international break. Despite a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia and a 3-2 victory over Mozambique, the team gained only 1.62 points, bringing their total to 1490.48 points.

The team's ranking had experienced a decline earlier in the year, falling to 40th in April after finishing 35th in December. This drop was attributed to their failure to participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Despite holding the 39th spot for two months, Nigeria fell to 40th in September.

In the African rankings, the Super Eagles are currently the 6th best team on the continent. Morocco leads the African rankings, holding the 13th position globally, followed by Senegal in 20th place. Tunisia, Egypt, and Algeria complete the top five African teams, ranking 32nd, 35th, and 33rd globally, respectively.

Argentina remains the top-ranked country in the world, followed by France, Brazil, England, and Belgium. Despite the Super Eagles' efforts in the recent international break, their position in the FIFA ranking remains unchanged.
