Alex Iwobi Left Everton On Good Terms

Nigerian football star Alex Iwobi emphasized that he left Everton "on good terms" despite the negotiations for his contract extension becoming complicated. Last summer's transfer window saw Iwobi move to Fulham on the deadline day after attempts to extend his contract with Everton proved unsuccessful.

If Iwobi hadn't joined Fulham for a transfer fee that could reach £22 million, he would have left Everton for free the following summer, with just one season left on his contract.

Joining Everton from Arsenal in 2019, Iwobi played a crucial role in the team's last two seasons, particularly helping them avoid relegation. He was named Everton Players' Player of the Year in the previous season.

In an interview with The Athletic, Iwobi didn't delve into the specifics of the negotiations but mentioned that he enjoyed his time at Everton. He acknowledged the difficulty in deciding to leave but expressed the need for a new challenge, with Fulham providing him the platform to do so.

While there were undisclosed talks behind closed doors, Iwobi emphasized that leaving Everton was a decision mutually agreed upon by both him and the club. Despite the decision to part ways, he wishes Everton success and mentioned that he left the club on good terms.
