Kenneth Okonkwo Reacts to Supreme Court's Affirmation of LP's Gubernatorial Candidate in Imo State

Nollywood actor and Labour Party (LP) stalwart, Kenneth Okonkwo, has responded to the Supreme Court's decision confirming Senator Athan Achonu as the authentic LP gubernatorial candidate in Imo State. The court also upheld the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure.

The Supreme Court's ruling, which took place on Thursday, dismissed Basil Madura's appeal against the Labour Party regarding the rightful candidate for the November 11th governorship election in Imo state, citing lack of locus standi.

With this verdict, the attempts of the Lamidi Apapa-led faction to control the Labour Party, including the authority to nominate candidates, have been conclusively thwarted.

Kenneth Okonkwo, expressing his reaction on X, referred to the Lamidi Apapa-led faction as "loud-mouth political clowns." He asserted that, with the Supreme Court's decision, the Labour Party is now undivided, free from factions.

In his post, Okonkwo stated, "The Supreme Court dismisses appeal by the Lamidi Apapa renegades against the candidacy of Labour Party Imo gubernatorial candidate, Senator Nathan Achonu. These loud-mouth political clowns should now allow the Labour Party to be. Labour Party is one with no factions. This has been settled by the Supreme Court today. The victory of light over darkness is sure, no matter how long it takes. We move!!!"
