Arabambi Vows to Persist Until Peter Obi Is Expelled from the Labour Party
The Labour Party (LP) faction aligned with Lamidi Apapa is determined to ensure the expulsion of Peter Obi, the party's 2023 presidential candidate. The faction alleges that Obi supported the Julius Abure faction even after being removed from the position of LP National Chairman by the court. Accusing Obi of betraying and weakening the party by supporting Abure, the faction, led by Abayomi Arabambi, the National Publicity Secretary, asserts in a Tuesday statement that they will not rest until Obi, whom they describe as a temporary presidential candidate, is ousted from the party.
The faction explicitly declares, "We in the Labour Party shall continue this Obi political war unabated until we see his dismissal from the Labour Party." The statement is a direct response to Yinusa Tanko, the spokesperson for the Obi-Datti campaign organization, who defended alleged discrepancies in Peter Obi's certificates.
Arabambi criticizes Tanko, accusing him of being a greedy individual solely interested in personal benefits. Arabambi advises Tanko to reflect on his life, describing him as a victim of greed and a corrupted mind prevalent among political slaves engaged in transactions. Arabambi highlights the failures of political figures attempting to commercialize the Labour Party and emphasizes that those perceived as leaders are morally hollow due to their lack of human resources and administrative capacities.
The statement concludes with a reproach directed at Peter Obi, the temporary LP Presidential Candidate, expressing satisfaction that joint efforts to weaken the Labour Party have embarrassingly backfired. Arabambi assures the public that the era of transactional politics is fading among many in the Nigerian political field.
