APC Rift in Rivers: Wike's Faction Opposes Amaechi Allies in Key Roles

The APC crisis in Rivers State has taken a new turn as Nyesom Wike's faction, during a meeting with APC national chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, urged the party to avoid appointing loyalists of the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to key positions. Wike's camp argued that Amaechi's group failed to support Tinubu in the February 25th election and called for adherence to a court order endorsing their expulsion from the party. Ganduje appreciated Wike's faction for their role in the presidential election but emphasized the need for party unity. He urged the group to allow the National Working Committee to address the issues constitutionally and avoid overheating the system. Former Kano State governor Ganduje acknowledged the miracle of winning the federal election but stressed the importance of maintaining party dignity and avoiding unnecessary litigation. He assured the group that the party would address leadership issues and move forward.
