MILLIONAIRE clergyman and general overseer of the Living Faith Church International Church Pastor David Oyedepo has warned his members not to take the Covid-19 vaccine saying that instead the government should come to him for a remedy.
Although spared the worst of the coronavirus pandemic, Nigeria has so far had 165,419 cases, of which there have been 2,065 unfortunate deaths. To combat the spread of the virus, the federal government received 3.94m doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines in early March and plans to accept another consignment of 29.8m doses of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine through the Covid-19 Vaccines Global Assess Facility (Covax) facility by the end of May or in early June.
India has also augmented this by donating a further 100,000 doses of its local Covishield coronavirus vaccine. According to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), no fewer than no fewer than 800,000 people have been vaccinated nationwide across Nigeria.
However, giving a sermon yesterday during the 40th anniversary thanksgiving service of his church popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop Oyedepo, warned his members not to take the deadly thing called vaccine. He then called on the government to come to him for a lasting solution to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bishop Oyedepo said: “They should come to me to find out how to deal with Covid-19 at no cost. Let me warn you against this deadly thing circulated round the country because it has not been duly tested.
“An elder of this church, who works with the World Health Organisation, confirmed this, thanking me for always speaking the truth about the authenticity of the Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccinators went to churches to get people vaccinated, which was an insult, as every church is an anti-Covid-19 zone.”
Recommending a shot of anointing oil as a way to kill the virus, Bishop Oyedepo also alleged that the side effects defeated the benefits of taking the vaccine. Filled to capacity, the auditorium at his church in Otta did not have anyone with masks on and no one observed the health protocols throughout the service.
Bishop Oyedepo added: “Nobody has the right to enforce vaccination on you and anybody cannot terminate your employment because you refuse to take the vaccine, my God will show up for you. Did I tell anyone I am sick? Don’t let anyone harass you into doing what you don’t want to do.
“They wanted Africa dead, I heard them say it. When we didn’t die as they proposed, they brought out this vaccination scheme.
“You need to hear their proclamation that Africa will lack spaces to bury corpses but, today, the reverse is the case. Africa has the least casualty among all the other continents of the world.”
