WAEC rolls out DigiCert digital certificates across five nations
The West African Examinations Council has declared that all five of its member nations—Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and the Gambia—will now fully utilise its Digital Certificate Services System, or WAEC DigiCert. On behalf of the Registrar, Demianus Ojijeogu, Head of Public Affairs at WAEC Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, made the announcement in a statement.
The digital certificate services platform is a web-based and mobile application that gives stakeholders easy access to digital copies of the original certificates, according to Ojijeogu. ”The WAEC Digital Certificate Services System offers candidates the opportunity to access, request, confirm and securely share digital copies of their certificates with institutions worldwide,” he explained. He went on to say that consumers might utilise the technology to retrieve lost WAEC exam numbers, experience significant cost savings, and be assured of validity.
"The system reduces administrative bottlenecks associated with manual certificate issuance and collection processes while guaranteeing authenticity and being dependable and secure," he said.
Additionally, he promised that the invention would not interfere with the printing and distribution of paper certificates.
For more information, Ojijeogu advised the public to visit the official website, social media accounts, or download the mobile application.
