Osun gov to present 2026 draft budget Wednesday

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is set to present the 2026 draft budget estimates to the State House of Assembly on Wednesday. The announcement was made by the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Adewale Egbedun, during a plenary session on Tuesday in Osogbo.

Egbedun told the House that the governor had sent a formal letter confirming the date and indicating that the budget preparation was fully completed and had received approval from the State Executive Council.

The governor’s letter, read to members, stated:

> “I am pleased to inform Mr Speaker and the distinguished members of the Osun State House of Assembly of my intention to lay the 2026 Draft Estimates of the State before the House on Wednesday, Nov. 12, having concluded its preparation and been approved by the State Executive Council.
This is to conform with the extant rules and regulations which stipulate that such draft estimates should be presented to the House for approval before the end of the year preceding the commencement of the budget implementation.”

During the same session, the Assembly also advanced the Osun State Research Integration and Innovation Implementation Bill 2025’, passing it for its first reading.
