Father Breaks Silence on Daughter's Tragic 'One Chance' Incident and Alleged Hospital Negligence

The father of the late Greatness Olorunfumi, who passed away last week due to alleged negligence at an Abuja general hospital after entering a 'One chance' vehicle, has broken his silence. Rev Dr. Olorunfemi Joseph Olufemi, speaking through Yali Network Nigeria's Secretary, expressed the family's overwhelming grief and the need for privacy during mourning.

According to Moyosoluwa Oladayo, the secretary, Greatness's father granted permission for her to speak. Greatness, a member of Yali Network Nigeria, arrived in Abuja last year from Lagos in search of better opportunities. As the first child and breadwinner of her family, she had no immediate relatives in Abuja.

The incident occurred last Tuesday, prompting Greatness's father to travel from Lagos to Abuja the following day. The family met with the organization on Thursday at Mabuchi Police DPO office. Due to videos and audio circulating on social media, the police insisted on officially opening the case on Thursday.

The FCT Police Command stated that they are currently investigating Greatness Olorunfemi's death, triggered by reports on social media. The Commissioner of Police directed the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation. Greatness, in her 30s, gained attention on social media when a video showed Maitama General Hospital allegedly neglecting her until her death.
