FG unveils impact challenge to boost 3MTT outcomes

As it expands the national digital skills drive, the Federal Government has launched a new "Impact Challenge" to enhance the outcomes of its three-million-man training program.

In a post on his X Twitter on Tuesday, Mr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, revealed the idea.

He claims that during the 3 Million Tech Talent program's pilot phase, more than 135,000 Nigerians received training in three cohorts.

He pointed out that over 300,000 participants now have access to greater learning possibilities thanks to community-driven resources, and the initiative has contributed to the creation of over 15,000 career and opportunity pathways.

"Beyond these, as we work towards the program's broader ambition of equipping three million citizens with in-demand digital skills, over 1.8 million Nigerians are currently within the #3MTT pipeline," the minister said.

The challenge will allow the government to evaluate and quantify the program's overall impact in advance of its next phase and its national scale-up.

"Our focus is on deepening impact by strengthening the alumni community as we go into the program's scale-up phase, when we accelerate our spread towards our aim, expanding access to opportunity, and ensuring skills translate into real outcomes.

“As we enter the scale-up phase of the programme where we accelerate our spread towards our target, our focus is on deepening impact by strengthening the alumni community, expanding access to opportunity, and ensuring skills translate into real outcomes.

“As part of this next phase, I would like to hear directly from Fellows and partners through the #3MTTImpactChallenge on how 3MTT has shaped your journey so far, through the 3MTT National Impact Reflection,” he said.

Participants in the challenge must post a "before and after" story with the required hashtags #My3MTTStory, #3MTTImpactChallenge, and #3MTTNigeria on social media sites including Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Instagram.

Additionally, participants must tag the official accounts of 3MTT Nigeria, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, and President Bola Tinubu.

The UNDP, Airtel Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, Huawei, Moniepoint, Google, Microsoft, the EU, AWS, IHS, and Denmark are among the partner organisations that must be tagged.
The deadline for entries is Monday, February 14, 2026.
