Dangote Cement rewards distributors with ₦15bn incentives

Dangote Cement Plc has given incentives worth ₦15 billion to its top distributors and consumers in appreciation of their dedication, tenacity, and exceptional performance throughout the nation.

The firm celebrated its top-performing partners under the subject "Partner for Growth" at the 2026 Distributors' Awards Night, which was hosted at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

A total of ₦15 billion worth of gifts, including cash awards, cement containers, luxury sports utility cars, and CNG-powered trucks, were given to the beneficiaries at the ceremony.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, praised the distributors' commitment to ensuring Dangote products reach communities throughout Nigeria and referred to them as the organization's heartbeat.

"What transforms our vision and objectives into real outcomes is your relentless labour in the field, your enticing dedication to our products, and your direct interaction with our clients. "Our growth journey for 2026 has already begun," he said, referring to today's event with the theme "Partner for Growth."

During the event, Dangote reiterated its Vision 2030 plan, which aims to make the Dangote Group a $100 billion business by 2030.

He clarified that the strategy's main goals include industrial growth, international investments, and bolstering Africa's independence in vital industries including manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure.

The business tycoon revealed that by 2030, the Dangote Cement Group hopes to increase its cement production capacity to over 90 million tonnes.

He emphasised that the company's goals go beyond building factories, pointing out that the larger goal is to increase Africa's ability to feed itself, power its economy, develop its people, and promote sustainable industrialisation.

“Under this vision, we have announced the expansion of our petroleum refinery from 650,000 bpd to 1.4 million bpd, the fertiliser plant to 12 million metric tonnes per annum, and an increase in production at the polypropylene plant. Our cement company is also targeting a production capacity of approximately 90 million tonnes by 2030. And 90 million tons by 2030 means that we are 50 per cent more than the entire production of Saudi Arabia,” he said.

“Vision 2030, an integral aspect of our Africa First project, was borne out of my firm belief that Africa’s future will be built by Africans who refuse to accept limits – people who dream big, work hard, and never stop believing in what is possible.”

“Our ambition goes beyond building factories. It is about building Africa’s capacity to feed itself, power its economy, develop its people, and drive sustainable industrialisation. We are empowering the next generation through the launch of a one trillion-naira ($600 million) education fund in December 2025”.

As part of this broader vision, the Aliko Dangote Foundation launched a ₦1 trillion ($600 million) education fund in December 2025 to support over 1.3 million vulnerable Nigerian students, with a focus on scholarships, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, technical and vocational education and training, and girls’ education.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dangote Cement Plc, Emmanuel Ikazoboh, who attended the event in his official capacity for the first time, highlighted the importance of strong distributor partnerships in ensuring the company’s products reach every part of the country.

Addressing the distributors, Ikazoboh announced, “Tonight, we are giving out about ₦9 billion in cash to our distributors. For some of you, it will be a double celebration, as you may receive two alerts in recognition of both your volume and growth results.”

He explained that the rewards were not limited to cash prizes alone.

“In addition to the cash prizes, we have prepared other exciting gifts, including CNG-powered trucks, high-end cars, and more, to show our appreciation for your commitment and outstanding performance,” he said.

Ikazoboh further outlined plans to ensure a strong start to the year by supporting distributor partners and improving supply chain efficiency and profitability as core drivers of growth.

He also revealed that Dangote Cement has invested heavily in Compressed Natural Gas-powered trucks, with a target to convert its entire truck fleet to CNG by the end of 2027 to enhance logistics efficiency and support sustainability.

“We have made significant investments in new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks. This initiative not only empowers our customers but also emphasises our dedication to corporate responsibility and global sustainability guidelines. These rewards reflect our promise to support customers and champion sustainable business practices.”

Ikazoboh disclosed plans for a greenfield two-line cement plant with a capacity of six million metric tonnes per annum in Itori, Ogun State, which will be dedicated to export markets.

He also announced ongoing expansion at the company’s grinding plant in Côte d’Ivoire, underscoring Dangote Cement’s commitment to pan-African growth.

He concluded by commending the distributors for their perseverance and loyalty, noting their central role in the company’s success.

“Your perseverance, trust, and loyalty help us maintain visibility and availability for our products nationwide. We are genuinely interested in seeing your businesses grow bigger, stronger, and more profitable.”
