Children at School Kneel to Plead with Obaseki to Fix Classroom

A viral video depicts primary school students in Edo pleading with the state government to address the deteriorating state of their school. In the footage, a concerned community member criticized the government for neglecting the school, which has served the community for years. He accused the government of abandoning the community and neglecting the necessary renovations.

According to the man, the school reported the dire situation to the local government secretary, who suggested relocating the children to schools in two distant communities. In the video, both the community members and the students are seen kneeling, urging the government to intervene and refurbish the school.

The man expressed concern about the imminent collapse of the school, mentioning that three classrooms had already collapsed that morning. Despite teachers' efforts to continue classes, fear of the building's collapse has hindered students and teachers from using the classrooms.

He questioned the government's indifference, emphasizing that the children cannot attend the school anymore. Frustrated by the local government's response, he emphasized the impracticality of relocating children to distant communities and pleaded for urgent government action to address the critical situation.
