Jigawa police arrest 30-year old man after he rapes his newly-wedded teenage wife to death

MEN of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested a 30-year old man named as Alasan Audu in Ringim Local Government Area of the state for raping his recently-wedded teenage wife to death.

 

In a tragic case of child abuse, Mr Audu raped his 17-year old wife to death after she denied him sex for 20 days following their wedding. According to the police, Mr Audu raped Hansa’u to death on April 21, at Kankarelu village in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

 

Police spokesman Abdu Jinjiri, said the teenage wife had  a different husband in mind when she was told she was to be married but her parents betrothed her to Mr Audu she never wanted to get married to. However, she was forced to get married to him and when he wanted to have sex with her, she refused and he subsequently forcefully raped her to death.

 

Mr Audu may likely face a murder charges which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before a court over the alleged offence. Mr Jinjiri said the police removed the corpse and took to the hospital where it was confirmed dead by a medical doctor and deposited in the morgue for an autopsy report.

 

According to the police, after interrogation, the suspect confessed committing the crime. According to Mr Jinjiri, the case is still under investigation and will be taken to court for prosecution.
