Jim Iyke's Reason for Seeking Healing for His Mother at TB Joshua's Church
Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, recently disclosed the driving force behind his decision to seek healing for his mother at the late TB Joshua's Synagogue Church Of All Nations in 2013. During an interview with Teju Babyface, which was shared on YouTube, the renowned actor explained that it was his deep desperation that compelled him to seek healing for his mother. Unfortunately, his mother, Esomugha, passed away on April 1, 2014.
It's worth noting that in January 2022, Iyke revealed that he had paid fellow actor, Uche Maduagwu, to stage a video where he was seen being beaten up. This video went viral in 2021. In August 2021, Iyke physically confronted Maduagwu for questioning the source of his wealth, resulting in the circulation of another viral video.
During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Iyke clarified that the altercation was prearranged, and he compensated Maduagwu as per their agreement.
He explained, "I reached out to the gentleman, and we came to a mutual understanding. I provided substantial compensation for the act, meticulously followed the script, involved Moses, and completed the recording. We're on the verge of unveiling the concluding part of it. I am not naive; I would never commit such an error."
Iyke further explained that it was his strategy to promote his movie, "Bad Comments."
"We invested over N20 million in the production of that film, and yet it was met with a certain level of skepticism from viewers. It wasn't until a scandal erupted that it gained widespread attention," the actor disclosed.
During his conversation with Babyface, he admitted to having been financially "exploited" by several religious figures due to his mother's illness, with the belief that she would recover.
"I will never allow desperation to cloud my judgment again. It was desperation that led me to take my mother there, hoping that a religious figure would heal her. If it were her time to pass, not even 20 TB Joshuas could have prevented it.
I sought assistance from various religious leaders, not just him. I've approached five or six different men of God. Should I refrain from mentioning names? The extent to which they manipulated me and the money they extracted from me is astonishing," he lamented.
