Burnley and WBA enter last ditch battle to sign QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel

NIGERIAN-born winger Bright Osayi-Samuel could make a dramatic move away from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) before the January transfer window shuts as Burnley and West Bromwich Albion (WBA) are both on his case.

In fine form for QPR this season, Osayi-Samuel, 22, has scored five goals this season and provided a similar number of assists in 23 matches so far this season. He arrived at The Hoops on a three-year deal in the summer of 2017, meaning he is out of contract this summer if the London club do not activate the one-year option on his contract.

With there being just two days left before the January transfer window shuts, Burnley and Premier League promotion candidates WBA are battling it out for Osayi-Samuel’s signature. Both clubs are preparing to make late bids for Osayi-Samuel ahead of the close of the winter transfer market on Friday, January 31.

WBA are targeting the winger as they have identified him as a player who can assist in their promotion push, while Burnley are hoping he can keep them in the Premier League. A pacy winger with an eye for goal, Osayi-Samuel has tormented defences in the English Championship this season, impressing with his trickery and speed.
