Boko Haram kidnap four soldiers and two policemen along Damaturu-Maiduguri road

Boko Haram kidnap four soldiers and two policemen along Damaturu-Maiduguri road

BOKO Haram has stepped up its attacks in Borno State over the last few days carrying out a deadly attack along the Damaturu-Maiduguri road that resulted in the sect kidnapping four soldiers and two police officers.

Despite being on the back foot of late, Boko Haram still has the capacity to carry out sporadic raids and earlier this week surprised security operatives with an attack. Boko Haram terrorists carried out an ambush near Auno village on Damaturu-Maiduguri road, taking the operatives by surprise.

Apparently, the insurgents who appeared in military uniforms were said to have mounted a roadblock on the highway with three Hilux vans before taking away the hostages who were returning from a short break. One military source said:  “Four military men were abducted in an 18 seater bus while two other policemen were abducted in a Gulf car.”

Over recent weeks, the Nigerian military has stepped up its campaign against Boko Haram, deploying more hardware and air power to the northeast. However, the terrorist sect still controls large swathes of remote Borno State.
