It cannot be coincidental that the coronavirus is weakest in Africa. It is either that we have some immunity in our bodies, the tropical heat kills it off, or there is something in our diet that repels the virus.
As the world’s largest black nation, Africa’s giant and the country with the largest number of Negorid people, it is up to Nigeria to find a cure for this coronavirus. Clearly, the solutions are tropical.
Who is going to bell the cat? Will one state government, the federal government, a private investor or our health professionals take the initiative here and start research. Given the state of things, the World health Organisation, the Chinese government and global pharmaceutical firms will be happy to pour billions into any research facility.
This may be a chance in a lifetime to lift ourselves out of poverty and claim a place at the high table of humanity. Why can we not set ourselves the national goal of finding a cure for coronavirus?
