An American weekly news magazine, Time, has named South African comedian Trevor Noah and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnagagwa among the “100 most influential pioneers, leaders, titans, artists and icons of 2018”.
The news magazine has unveiled its annual list to the world on Thursday, including record numbers of 45 women and 45 people under the age of 40.
Time Editor-in-Chief, Edward Felsenthal, said: “The TIME 100, always a reflection of its moment, looks quite different than in the past.
“Influence increasingly knows no single zip code and no minimum age.”
Time also recognised other Africans like Ghanaian-American Virgil Abloh, Painter Kehinde Wiley, Actress and producer Issa Rae and South African-born entrepreneur Elon Musk.
