Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses has emerged as the latest doubt for Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso at the Hive Stadium in March 2017 London, England.
March 13, Monday night, Moses limped off injured as Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final encounter. In the report, a calf strain is the initial diagnosis of his ailment which could rule him out of Nigeria’s games.
If that is confirmed by Chelsea medics when the Super Eagles star is further assessed, he could face up to three weeks on the sidelines.
Last season in the Premier League, injuries limited Victor Moses’ appearances, but he has been in good form this term under Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. Not only, Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi is a doubt for the two friendly games as the Gunners’ forward is currently down with sickness.
Wolfsburg teen star Victor Osimhen is definitely out of the friendlies as he is still recovering from injury and has been replaced in the squad by Olanrewaju Kayode of Austria Vienna.
Nigeria will be without their captain John Obi Mikel for the Burkina Faso and Senegal games as the midfielder has opted out due to his engagement with his new Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda.
