Buba Musa Shehu, Chairman of Bauchi State Internally Displaced Persons, has slammed Nigerian government for stopping all interventions to Northeast IDPs.
During an interview with DAILY POST on Wednesday in Bauchi, Shehu cried out that some landlords have since sent most IDPs out of their rented apartments over outstanding rents.
He said: “It’s over one year that IDPs in Bauchi State stopped receiving relief materials from any tier of government despite repeated promise.
“This is the terrible story of IDPs in Northeast now. The government seems not to be willing to assist them anymore. This is a result of corruption and impunity.”
Shehu noted that poverty and hunger was now the order of the day among IDPs while the FG is watching with keen interest without a solution.
