Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru who is the theatre commander of Operation Lafiya Dole has revealed that the army killed 15 Boko Haram members in Gwoza on Tuesday, October 10.
Attahiru has made this known on Wednesday, October 11, in a press briefing at the Operation’s headquarters in Maiduguri, saying that the terrorists ambushed troops in Gwoza and 15 insurgents fell to soldiers’ bullets during a gunfight.
He said: “After defeating the terrorists, the army seized weapons and ammunitions left behind by the fleeing assailants.”
Giving report of the army’s efforts against the insurgents, Attahiru confirmed the death of two Boko Haram commanders at the hand of troops on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Bama.
He also said that in the past weeks, the army has killed 19 and arrested at least about 18 others.
