A Nigerian, Hima Aboubakar, and an American weapons dealer, Ara Dolarin, was arrested and now in court over a $246 million (N77.55 billion) Nigerian arms procurement contract – Aboubakar filed for a lawsuit against the American dealer before a court in California, USA.
The Nigerian claimed that Dolarian was unsuccessful in shipping dangerous weapons such as explosives and rockets worth $8.6 million (N2.7 billion) to the Nigerian military. The two are currently in court over a $246 million (N77.55 billion) Nigerian arms procurement contract.
The contract was approved in 2014 and the goal is to provide weapons, helicopters, bombs and ammunition for defending the country against terrorist in the North-East.
However, the contract stopped a year after and the weapons were never delivered to Mr. Aboubakar which led him on filing a lawsuit against the American weapons dealer in a court in California.
