The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, will officially launch Nigerian’s new Immigration Regulations on Monday to guarantee better security and Immigration in the country.
Mr. Dambazau said that the Immigration Regulations of 2017 is an important document to begin the Immigration Act of 2015.
Mr. Sunday James, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Immigration Services expressed confidence to the document, if properly executed, would go a long way in transforming the organization of NIS and compare it to other international practices.
“The honourable Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, (retired) will officially present the Immigration Regulations 2017 to the public on Monday, March, 20, 2017.” he said.
The act also gives the Federal Republic of Nigeria the right to apprehend the protocols against smuggling of immigrants by land, sea, air which adds to the UN Convention Against Traditional Organized Crime.
