Teenager accused of N100,000 theft dies by suicide

A 17-year-old boy named Ojibe Chukwueze was discovered dead after being accused of stealing N100,000 from his employer in the Abijo area of the Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State on Monday.

Chukwueze's body was found by the roadside by his sister, who revealed that he had returned home from work on the mentioned date, took some money, and then left.

According to a source, Chukwueze did not return home at the expected time, prompting his sister to receive a call from a neighbor informing her that his lifeless body was found at the bus stop.

The sister later received a call from Chukwueze's employer, alleging that he had stolen N100,000.

The source continued, "She mentioned that the boy's employer later contacted her, alleging that her brother had stolen N100,000 from his shop.

"Additionally, the sister recounted that Ojibe Chukwueze did not return home until she received a call from a neighbor reporting that her brother was found deceased at Abijo bus stop. Upon rushing to the scene, she discovered her brother's lifeless body alongside a container of sniper.

When reached for comment, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that an investigation has been launched to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.

Upon receiving the report, detectives from the division visited the scene, where they observed foam emanating from his mouth and nostrils. The container of sniper has been seized as evidence.

"The body has been taken and stored at Epe General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation," Hundeyin revealed. "Investigations are underway.
