Portable Arrested by Police for Unpaid G-Wagon Debt
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended the renowned musician, Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, for defaulting on payment for a G-Wagon he purchased from a local car dealer.
Portable, who only paid N13 million of the N27 million vehicle's price, has consistently neglected to settle the outstanding balance of N14 million. Reports indicate that he has frequently cited alleged defects in the vehicle whenever the dealer requests payment
When attempts to recover the outstanding balance from Portable failed, the car dealer escalated the issue to the police. Subsequently, law enforcement officers were dispatched to investigate the matter and apprehended Portable.
Confirming the arrest, a police spokesperson stated, "Yes, Portable has been detained. He acquired a G-Wagon for N27 million, remitted only N13 million, and declined to settle the remainder, alleging vehicle defects. We effected the arrest earlier today."
