Disney employees begin weekly four day work from office
Disney has mandated that its hybrid employees return to corporate offices four days a week.
The order, which goes into effect on March 1, was contained in an email from the company's CEO, Bob Iger, obtained by CNBC on Monday.
Iger emphasized the importance of in-person collaboration for the company in the email.
"As I've met with teams across the company over the last few months, I've been reminded of the tremendous value in being together with the people you work with," Iger wrote.
"As I've said many times, creativity is at the heart of who we are and what we do at Disney. And nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe, and create with peers that comes from being physically together, nor the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors, in a creative business like ours."
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses chose work-from-home or hybrid work models to limit virus spread.
However, as the number of cases dropped, most employers asked employees to return to work because it was pre-COVID-19.
Disney, like other large corporations, had mandated a four-day workweek for its employees.
Apple mandated that employees return to work three days per week in September 2022.
Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, ordered nearly all employees to return to the office five days a week in November 2022.
