An Ilorin-based medical doctor, Dr. Florence Adigun, on Wednesday, adviced fellow Nigerians to lessen intake of solid foods.
Dr. Adigun stated in Ilorin that consuming too many carbohydrates has many negative effects on the body and urged to eat more fruits and vegetables as it provides more vitamins and minerals.
Eating too much carbohydrates may lead to obesity and stress.
Dr. Adigun said that eating the correct kinds of carbohydrates is very rewarding especially when losing weight and also it improves your sleeping experience and decrease stress.
She also said it could boost your athletic performance, exercising feels less grumpy, no more food cravings and may avoid tendency of over eating.
Eating late at night is not suitable as it may lead to obesity because calories will likely be converted to fat rather than burning it as energy. The best time to eat at night is between 7:00 pm to 7:30pm according to Dr. Adegun.
