Somaliland – The election in Somaliland is now technologically friendly as they introduced to the world the first Iris recognition-based biometrics voting system.
This voting system scans the eye to authenticate the identification of registered voters before they are freed to vote.
Some African countries like Ghana, Kenya and Angola use the old fingerprint biometric voting system to recognize registered voters.
The new system removed the difficulty of double voting but the drawback is mostly technological including the malfunction of machines and the battery tests which sometimes makes the process moderate.
The small complications did not change the outcome of the elections in any situation and it just showed how successful the Somaliland elections is.
