NNPC denies selling job slots to applicants

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has urged the public, particularly job seekers, to disregard rumours that they can buy employment opportunities.

The company stated that rumours that it is offering job openings to anyone who wants to buy are completely false, describing them as the actions of con artists looking to exploit gullible applicants.

Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL's Chief Corporate Communications Officer, announced this on Saturday via his official X handle.

It issued a warning, stating that as a responsible corporate body, it hires new employees using a clear procedure that prohibits any form of inducement or slot sales.

It states that anyone who pays money to anyone for any job within the company does so at their own risk.

"The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC Ltd.) has urged members of the public, particularly job seekers, to disregard rumours about employment opportunities for sale.

"The company states that there is no iota of truth in the insinuations that it has employment slots on offer to anyone who wishes to buy, describing such as antics of fraudsters who want to take advantage of unsuspecting applicants," Soneye told the press.
