Lawmaker facilitates new roads in Lagos community

The senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Adetokunbo Abiru, has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Ikorodu.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by his aide, Enitan Olukotun, the roads are 1.2 km Dagbolu Road in Majidun, 1.2 km Agunfoye Road in Igbogbo, and 1.2 km Ojokoro Road around the Agric area of Ikorodu West LCDA.

He stated that these were in addition to the ongoing 32-kilometer Ikorodu-Itokin Road reconstruction, which connects various communities and towns in Lagos East Senatorial District.

According to Olukotun, the Ibu-Owo and Jalajugbo roads are also nearing completion.

"Once completed, these roads will significantly alleviate transportation challenges, reduce travel time, and boost economic activity in their respective communities.

"The next targets for construction and rehabilitation are Apena Jimbo, Nurudeen Owolabi, and GRA 2 roads." These projects reaffirm Senator Abiru's commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits and ensuring long-term development in Lagos East," the aide added.

During interactions with residents of Ojokoro and Dagbolu by Abiru's team, led by Olukotun, community members and other road users praised the federal lawmaker's approach to infrastructure development.

They praised him for facilitating other projects in the area, such as schools, hospitals, ambulances, medical supplies, electricity transformers, stadiums, markets, and youth centres.
