Ghana – Dada Musah, 19, has been sentenced to 15-year imprisonment for illegally trading in Tramadol.
According to the Ghana Web, the Nsuta Circuit Court in the Sekyere Central District sentenced Musah, a resident of Ejura, after he pleaded guilty to the charge of dealing in prohibited drugs and also causing unlawful damage.
Musah was arrested from a market in Ejura after an eyewitness saw him reportedly selling stolen goods, including the drugs. The suspect was also accused by the prosecution of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
However, with the help of some civilians in the market, he was overpowered and arrested and later sent to the police station together with a pair of scissors, a bag containing 54 packs of 250 mg of Tramadol, and a large amount of cash which was the proceeds from the sale of the drugs.
