Qatar – Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn is in Qatar for an official visit and is planning to gather the Emir of the Gulf State, media channels of both countries have affirmed.
“The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will meet with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn at the Emiri Diwan tomorrow (i.e. today),” the GulfNews portal reported.
The two groups are scheduled to examine bilateral relations in places of cooperation. “The Emir and the Ethiopian prime minister will discuss means of enhancing bilateral relations as well as a number of issues of common interest,” the portal added.
The government of Qatar removed its soldiers from a debated border region between Eritrea and Djibouti after the latter promised to support Saudi and its partners in isolating Doha out.
Ethiopia said it was checking the current situation and like Somalia who chose to stay unbiased in both parties on that problem.
